Cost Accountant – Grain Field Chickens Head Office at VKB Group

Job Description

• Responsible for ensuring accurate yield and production calculations as well as monitoring costings on a constant basis.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
• Com Accounting.
• CIMA qualification will serve as recommendation.
• Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles.
• 3 years’ relevant experience within the cost accounting field.
• Applicable experience in an FMCG environment.
• Must be computer literate – Microsoft Package.
• A willingness to work overtime where requested.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement and develop a costing system.
• Maintain costing records.
• Project costing & margins.
• Generate costing & margin reports.
• Develop and maintain costing models.
• Monitor purchase- & sales price variance.
• Stock evaluation at month-end.
• Assist in the budget and forecast process with pricing structures.
• Assist with stock counts.
• Compile monthly management reports.
• Maintain fixed asset register.
• Maintain inventory items on Navision.
• Any other duties as may be required by management.

• Strong analytical, numeracy and interpersonal skills.
• Accuracy and attention to details.
• Understanding of ratios like revenue, profit, cost, loss, cash-flow, debt.
• Skilled in quantitively methods to perform financial analysis.
• Knowledge of company and financial policies and procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills – written & verbal.
• Ability to function independently within team context and to accept responsibility.
