    Cost Accounting Manager

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Build reports and perform data analysis
    • Formation of client charge models (rate cards) and analysis of costs attributed to these services.
    • Prepare and distribute monthly cost centre income statements and analysis.
    • Attend operational meetings with managers and respond to cost centre queries.
    • Reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets and cost centre income statements.
    • Develop and prepare monthly costing model.
    • Review key month end financial reconciliations
    • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and the budgeting process.
    • Ensure that all the appropriate internal controls are functioning effectively at all times.
    • Assist team in terms of problem resolution and troubleshooting
    • Manage and ensure high standard of service delivery to clients and key stakeholders.
    • Liaise with and build effective communication between departments
    • Preparation of monthly management reports
    • Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.


    • Develop mentor and coach team leaders.
    • Develop accounting, internal control and business knowledge within the team.
    • Effective productivity and capacity management


    • Design/review/implementation of best practice for structure of accounts, reconciliations and reports.

    Prior Work Experience / Background:

    • Ability to build reports and perform data analysis (Great advantage).
    • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant/Manager
    • Experience in the financial sector (at least three years)
    • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
    • Proficient user of finance software
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
    • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
    • Qualified CA/ Completed Articles (non-negotiable)

    Technical / Special Requirements:

    • MS Office proficiency (Excellent excl and power BI skills)
    • Knowledge of the mechanics of unit trust and other retail investments
    • Experience on accounting/ reconciliation software
    • Ability to build reports and perform data analysis (Great advantage).

    Educational Requirements:

    •  CA (SA) (non-negotiable)
