Right to Care is recruiting Counsellors across the Ehlanzeni District, with 16 positions in Mbombela and 2 in Thaba Chweu.
Provide quality HTS counselling services; namely, HTS (including the modalities), couple counselling, and/or treatment adherence counselling.
Facilitate facility based treatment adherence clubs
Register clients for IACT/Link Care classes and facilitate the I ACT sessions
Facilitate Adolescence and Youth sessions
Support the Mentor Mother programme
Dispatch treatment parcels during adherence club facilitation sessions
Perform quality checks according to RTCQI
Participate in proficiency testing
Participate in HTS campaigns as determined by the department
Implement Index Testing (including follow up of index client/contacts
Implement HIV Self-Screening (HIVSS)
Administer, interpret and communicate HIV rapid testing results to clients.
Ensure the availability of all service materials to provide HTS services.
Market HIV, AIDS, STI, TB and related services to clients in and around the facility (through, health talks, awareness campaigns, etc.)
Ensure the availability of HIV, STI and TB prevention information, education and communication materials at the facility for clients, or request for such materials from the immediate supervisor.
Complete the clients’ information in the specified books, documents and/or registers, and ensure that the required information is provided to (a) person(s) that has/have been designated for the collection and collation of such information.
Keep an up to date personal daily register and submit it to the facility manager for approval.
Be available for on-going training in HIV, AIDS, STI and TB and related services as arranged by the Department.
Based at HIV screening service delivery points have to provide HTS services to a minimum of 10 clients or patients per day.
Have to facilitate a minimum of two (2) group sessions for previously HIV tested clients per month.
Requirements
Required Minimum Qualification
Grade 12 or Equivalent
Have basic training in HIV and AIDS counselling and testing.
Be able to read and write in local language(s) that is/are used by the people in the (municipal) area and in English.
