Operational Manager Nursing Grade 1 (General) (Ward 5 and 6)
A minimum of 7 years appropriate / recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (RI74) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. OR A 3 year Diploma in Nursing (RI71) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) AS A General Nurse.
Duties
Provide leadership, management, governance and supervision of nursing services. Ensure the provision of optimal, holistic nursing care within the parameters of professional, legal and ethical practices. Effectively manage human and financial resources with emphasis on compliance of policies, practice and protocols. Ensure effective adherence to quality improvement strategies in the execution of quality nursing care and clinical governance. Provide effective management support to nursing services, hospital management including after-hours coverage and night duty.
