    Country Lead: Tax

    • Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Country Lead: Tax, to join the Finance team at CCBA. The role will report to the Group Head: Tax Management.
    • To lead and oversee the country tax function, ensuring full compliance with local and international tax legislation while proactively managing tax risk and optimising tax efficiency. The role is responsible for accurate and timely tax reporting, effective stakeholder engagement with tax authorities and internal teams, and identifying value-adding tax opportunities that support CCBA’s business strategy, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Accurate Tax Reporting: Ensure compliance and timely submission of tax returns, reducing penalties and audit risks
    • Effective Risk Management: Maintain tax compliance through internal audits, adherence to legislative updates, and managing tax assessments or objections
    • Enhanced Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement value-adding tax savings opportunities while improving automation and processes
    • Clear Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide comprehensive support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate communication and alignment of tax policies

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Skills:

    • Demonstrated ability to manage and ensure accuracy in preparing, reconciling, and submitting various tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and dividend taxes, while adhering to strict regulatory deadlines
    • Strong ability to identify discrepancies, analyse complex tax data, and provide accurate resolutions, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks in tax submissions and audits
    • Experience in identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing automation solutions, and streamlining tax reporting workflows to enhance operational efficiency
    • In-depth understanding of local and international tax regulations, compliance requirements, and the ability to maintain and update tax risk registers while addressing risks proactively
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, local tax authorities, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of tax strategies and clear resolution of queries
    • A proactive mindset for identifying value-adding tax opportunities, analysing financial impacts, and implementing strategies that contribute to organisational objectives
    • Experience in managing audits, filing objections, and appealing discrepancies in tax assessments while maintaining proper documentation and communication with authorities
    • Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality outputs and meeting strict deadlines

    Experience:

    • 8-12 years post-qualification experience in taxation, and experience using computerised tax reporting systems (e.g. Corpsmart) would be advantageous

    Qualifications:

    • A relevant financial qualification
    • A Higher degree/diploma in Tax or equivalent
    • CA(SA), CIMA, or CTA would be advantageous
