    CRM Copywriter

    Role Description

    Seeking an experienced and versatile direct response marketing digital copywriter for a full- time, on-site, contract position to write best-in-class creative and engaging content, in a fast-paced, agile digital environment. The candidate will join a team of two copywriters, reporting into the head of digital copy. This candidate will work closely with the design team in an exciting, creatively driven and motivated creative studio. This candidate will be part of the broader digital marketing team (of 15 people) and will work closely with the CRM team. This position is a full time fixed 12-month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.

     

    Salary

    • R30,000 to 35,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

     

    Responsibilities

    • Create persuasive, conversion-focused marketing communications using established direct response selling techniques
    • Edit the work of others effectively in order to achieve the best performing copy
    • Prioritize multiple projects and deliver highly effective and creative work
    • Research and find the best way to present products to various target markets on different platforms
    • Continue to grow and improve direct marketing guidelines
    • Collaborate with team members at all levels to ensure projects are consistent with best practices, brand guidelines, compliance and overall project goals

     

    Requirements

    • 5-7+ years’ experience in long and short-form digital direct response marketing copy (experience can include print)
    • Relevant degree or diploma
    • Excellent direct response copywriting skills – creatively strong, strong attention to detail and factual correctness
    • Crafts highly engaging copy that compels action i.e. making a purchase, downloading an app, signing up for a newsletter, downloading content, entering a competition, etc.
    • Must be skilled at writing copy that tugs at a reader’s emotions and addresses their worries, fears, pain points and immediate needs
    • Must be skilled at writing long form copy that informs, persuades and convinces
    • Must be skilled at writing brilliant subject lines that increase open rates
    • Must be skilled at writing irresistible call-to-actions to increase click through rates e.g. read a blog, find out more about a product, etc.
    • Versatile and adaptable – able to work across multiple different brands and adapt tonality accordingly
    • Quick learner – we work in a complex environment with complex products, with many intricate product and legal nuances
    • Fast worker – we work with extremely tight deadlines and demanding stakeholders
    • Exceptional time-management skills
    • Strong creative problem-solving skills
    • Proficient in layout in digital formats – provides clear and clean copy decks
    • Must be proficient in:
      • Microsoft Office Suite
