Customer Engagement & Portfolio Manager (Transactional Banking) - JHB at Absa

This role offers the interested candidate an opportunity to be a part of a high performance team that will focus on managing existing Transactional Banking customers. The individual will be responsible for a portfolio that he/she must understand intricately and come up with strategies to ensure the success of the portfolio and ultimately meet the targets set by the business. The role includes the creation and management of communication, channel and marketing strategies. The individual will be part of a team that focuses on the complete lifecycle of a customer starting post the sale to the point of closure. The individual will have access to a teams across various disciplines with in Transactional Banking as well as Absa. The individual together with the rest of the team is responsible to grow primary customers through sustained customer engagement and commercial strategies. There are no direct reports but the individual will be responsible for a portfolio in one of the largest businesses within Everyday Banking as well as RBB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The high level duties of the role:
 

• The individual must have an appreciation for analytical thinking and solving problems
• The individual must be of a commercial mindset with a good understanding of the retail banking space
• The individual will be required to have an understanding of the customer lifecycle process for banking end to end
• Define, brief, map out strategies for specified portfolios
• Must have the ability to put together a customer engagement strategy
• Define / Map the customer journey, channel journey
• Understand campaign management end to end
• Will be required to represent Portfolio Management at various forums within the bank including to senior leadership
• Have the ability to work on Excel, PowerPoint and Word at an advanced level
• Work with data files and understand the importance of POPI and protecting the interest of the bank and the customer
• Work with channel partners to ensure delivery of TxB strategies

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant B. Degree in business ⁄ banking ⁄ accounting / BI or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
• At least 5-10 years banking ⁄ technology/ financial services environment experience
• Experience in Project management and PM training ⁄ qualification relevant technology qualification
• Solid experience in management of communication, channel and marketing strategies
• At least two (2) years Specialist Customer Engagement or Relationship management experience
• At least three (3) years’ experience in a Customer Engagement and/or Portfolio manager role in Transactional banking
