Competencies
Knowledge of and working experience in the following: Interpret and implement legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices relevant to the line functions; use information systems that support the management of knowledge and information relating to the line function; administer the National Land Transport Act (Act No. 5 of 2009); the National Land Amendment Transport Act (Act No 23 of 2023) and the regulations associated with both Acts. Administer the Road Transportation Act (Act No. 74 of 1977);
administer the Western Cape Road Transportation Amendment Law Act (Act No. 8 of 1996); administer the National Land Transport Regulations, 2009; manage the functions, activities, processes and procedures of a Walk-In-Centre; process applications for operating licences; manage financial management, monitoring and reporting procedures, systems and reports of the Directorate;
perform general office administration and database management; manage financial processes in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, 1999, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions and other applicable financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements;
Skills: perform numeracy and literacy functions; use computer applications and systems effectively; communicate effectively in the required language; manage projects; perform accounting, finance and audit functions; conduct economic, financial and statistical analysis; perform legal administration;
