Data Analyst at MECS (Pty) Ltd

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience as a Data Analyst in the mining industry

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Metallurgy, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or Equivalent
• At least five years in a project support or data orientated occupation.
• In-depth knowledge of integrated business and accounting systems.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Develop operating models that will enable gathering, organizing and analyzing big data to deliver impact
• Lead analytically-driven problem solving to develop actionable business insights and recommendations

Data visualisation and communication

• Communicating the constructs and results of analyses and experiments to a non-technical and executive audience
• Communicating statistical, machine learning and data science concepts to a non-technical and executive audience

Modelling, data requirement and solution design

• Work with project managers and engineers to design quantitative and statistical models
• Guide the design of experiments and tests to prove hypotheses

Developing capability

• Establish the processes, mindsets, and skills required to convert data to business intelligence and insights
• Vision and architect new strategies, solutions and applications in organization
