Job Description    

• We’re looking for a commercially minded Data Analyst to turn complex retail data into meaningful business insights that drive smarter decision-making across our Brands. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and optimising our reporting ecosystem by developing scalable data models in BigQuery and Looker (LookML), while creating impactful dashboards and visualisations in Data Studio Pro. Working at the intersection of data and strategy, you will help transform raw information into clear, actionable insights that support business performance and growth.

Qualifications    

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related quantitative field.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience    

• 2–4 years of experience in a Data Analyst or BI Developer role.
• Proven experience building dashboards in Data Studio; experience with the Pro version features is a significant advantage.
• Hands-on experience with Looker (LookML) is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (BigQuery/Standard SQL).
• Industry Experience: within Retail or FMCG (understanding of retail metrics like LFL growth, Stock Turn, and GP%).
• Experience with the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem (specifically BigQuery).
• Data Storytelling: Ability to simplify complex data sets into clear visual narratives.
• Relational Database Knowledge: Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, schemas, and ETL/ELT flows.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• A natural desire to dig into "the why" behind the numbers.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment with evolving priorities.

Key Responsibilities    

• Actionable Visualisations: Deliver intuitive, self-service dashboards that enable stakeholders (Buying, Planning, Operations, etc.) to track KPIs in real-time.
• Semantic Layer Integrity: Build and maintain scalable LookML models to ensure a "single source of truth" across the organisation.
• Data Literacy: Empower business users to interact with data independently through well-structured Explore environments and training.
• Operational Efficiency: Automate manual reporting processes, reducing the time-to-insight for regional and store managers.
• Dashboard Development: Design and develop sophisticated reports and dashboards in Data Studio Pro that follow best practices in data visualisation and UX.
• Data Modelling: Write and optimise LookML to define dimensions, measures, and joins, ensuring the semantic layer is performant and easy to use.
• SQL Development: Write complex, performant SQL queries within BigQuery to prepare data for visualisation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate "business questions" into technical data specifications.
• Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency between dashboards and source systems.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize dashboard performance to ensure fast load times for end-users.
