Description

• The Data Architect is a highly skilled engineer responsible for managing complex data tasks, designing BI solutions, and leading the Data Engineering team. They work as part of a team using deep technical expertise in Data Architecture and Data Engineering. In addition to this, they have solid knowledge of dimensional modelling and solution architecture to solve complex BI challenges.
• In a leadership and mentoring capacity, the Data Architect guides, supports, and develops team members, ensuring best practices are followed and technical standards are upheld across the team. They play a key role in fostering professional growth, providing training, reviewing work, and setting the technical direction for the team.

Requirements
Minimum Experience:  

• 8 - 10 years plus experience within a data architecture/engineering, data management or related field.
• At least 7 years hands on Data Engineering experience with 5 years’ experience leading a team of Data Engineers or similar technical team. 
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, and related Azure data services
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex data systems
• Strong background in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Deep knowledge of Azure data platform (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake/Fabric) and ETL/ELT design
• Knowledge of, and in-depth understanding of Data Warehousing principles, ERP Systems, data  modelling and reporting tools
• Knowledge and understanding of dimensional modelling and solutions architecture
• Ability to lead and mentor teams, providing technical guidance and support
• Effective time management in order to prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines as specified
• Highly analytical with problem solving skills
• Troubleshooting ability with the ability to develop logical solutions to fit situations and expectations  and/or follow specifications
• Ability to learn and adapt to change in a high paced rapidly changing environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
