Data Distillery Director at Pernod Ricard

Job Purpose

• In this role, you will be leveraging digital, data and AI to help Pernod Ricard SA & SSA conquer new frontiers and be the most innovative Wine & Spirits company in the world in terms of AI and digital, which is shaping new ways we do business with high-value applications such as end-to-end forecasting and planning along with ROI measurement for advertising and promotional spending. This allows us to better anticipate needs, adapt to, and shape changes in consumer demand and behaviors.
• Our ambition is to leverage the uniqueness of the depth of our brand portfolio to address the right product & service at the right time, at the right price to the right person.

This will be done by:

• Reinventing the way sales forces operate, equipping them with data-driven tools to support the prioritization of their efforts
• Optimizing the Master Data strategy and mapping
• Optimizing marketing efficiency across channels
• Deploying some flagship projects, such as Matrix and Maestria 2.0 (amongst others) across points of marketing and sales based on business potential and image by using various sources of data (point of sales, sales data by SKU, Sales Rep data, social network, third-party data)
• Prioritization of outlets through social media data & automated updates to increase market penetration and better calibration of our route to market
• Projects are delivered in production on our “Data Platform” built in partnership with our best in class IT team leveraging the most recent technologies available on the public cloud

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads the nurturing of data transformation for SA & SSA through 3 key teams. The data science team who is responsible for the design, development, programming methods, processes and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for businesses across the company.
• The Commercial intelligence team who is responsible for the generating the insights for the commercial team to drive our path to leadership within SA/SSA through sell out data and advanced processes to improve our Collaborative Business Planning (demand forecasting). Lastly, Consumer Insights, understanding what is driving our consumers behaviors today and defining the macro trends that will shape SA & SSA in the future through qualitative and quantitative methods

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another quantitative field (preferably a bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
• Relevant programming qualifications and / or certifications
• Relevant Agile certification is preferable
• 8 to 10 years team management experience
• 8 to 10 years strategy definition management
• 8 to 10 years of execution experience
• Directs/controls broad functional area through departmental managers
• Works with other senior managers to set strategic plans and objectives
• Makes decisions on administrative and operational matters
• Ensures operations meet objectives
• Works on complex issues
• Has in-depth knowledge of organization
