Data Engineer at Digital Gaming Corporation (DGC)

Purpose of the Role:

• DGC is seeking a Data Engineer to join our amazing Data Science Team. The Data Engineer will primarily be responsible for the discovery, design and build of our data infrastructure.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Plan, coordinate, develop and support Data development including architecting table structure, building ELT process, documentation, and long-term preparedness.
• Adopt the company best practices and design patterns and follow the coding standards.
• Analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain technical solutions and building data structures.
• Developing data validation processes and alerting to ensure data accuracy.
• Shares in the technical cooperation of both on-shore and off-shore resources for development and quality assurance work to insure timely delivery of all reporting solutions.
• Define technical design and implementation documents (Programme flow and data flow diagram).
• Provide production support for the platform.
• Provide regular project updates to shared team resources and management as needed.
• Communicate issues, risks, and concerns proactively to management and engage colleagues while working in a hybrid Agile/Scrum process.
• Document products thoroughly.

Essential Criteria:

• 3+ years’ experience in information technology or 5 years' progressive experience with data technologies.
• Advanced experience with integration of data including flat files, streaming data and APIs and databases.
• Good working experience with object orientated programming language such as C# or javascript.
• Knowledge of best practices in enterprise-wide database implementation, availability, and security configuration.
• Strong working knowledge in developing database application and knowledge of best practices.
• Knowledge of relational database technologies and related information technology.
• Hands on understanding and comprehension of document data technologies (Json, Parquet).
• Direct experience in building end to end solutions.
• Knowledge and direct experience working with Microsoft stack or open source stack.
• Excellent communication skills: capacity to explain complex solutions to non-technical business, process, and solution owner-partners internally, along with all Stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in building serverless applications such as Azure functions or microservices such as console applications.
• Experience in modern data lake principles and technologies.
