Data Engineer at Fuse Universal

The Role

You will be working as part of a team in the Engineering department and working closely with the Data Lead in the Product Team. You will be expected to set up & maintain data pipelines, data models and ETL processes. You will be working closely with DevOps on infrastructure requirements and support existing and future data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data pipelines, data modelling and ETL processes in a scalable in reliable way
• Support your engineering team with software engineering best practices and software tools for data processing and transfer
• Adhere to the software development and release processes and engineering best practices.
• Supporting, developing and building metrics to be surfaced on dashboards
• Ensure data quality through validation and testing
• Providing support on embedded analytics to our support team (not customer facing).
• Support tasks to create data sets for analysis.
• Assist with data-related technical issues and support and work with DevOps to satisfy data infrastructure needs.
• Guide data storage strategies and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices

Requirements

• Experience working with and creating data pipelines and related infrastructure
• Experience with at least one programming language preferably Python, Java, Ruby or similar
• Experience in designing data architecture for large scale systems
• Extensive experience with cloud based infrastructure providers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and the tools they provide
• Knowledge of data warehousing best practices and compliance.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database syntax and design
• Experience with big-data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or similar would be highly beneficial
• Experience in data presentation (ELK, Tableau, etc.)
• Experience using GoodData or equivalent embedded analytics platform is an advantage
