Job Description
At Old Mutual Multi-Managers we are looking for a person who is passionate about data. Data is the cornerstone of our investment business with complexity arising through the variety of processes and systems that utilise the data for different purposes and outcomes. In this complex environment, data stewardship is required to ensure that the structures are in place for data to be available to enhance business processes and exploit the value intrinsic in our data.
This role drives data quality and adherence to data governance requirements on a day-to-day basis. It incorporates processes, policies, and guidelines for administering Old Mutual Multi-Managers data in compliance with policy and/or regulatory obligations, ensuring high data quality. The data steward reviews and, if necessary, enhances the information provided for the creation or maintenance of data. The incumbent is accountable for driving the improvement of data governance, management and security maturity levels within OML to support reliable decision making, appropriate data usage and protection thereof.
Embeds good data practice within business units and functions, and champions a data and customer focused culture within Old Mutual Multi-Managers.
Set standards for the way in which data is governed i.e. how it is acquired, organised, stored, managed, maintained and supplied to the business
Drives data maturity improvements in Old Mutual Multi-Managers
Establishes process, procedure for data management and information governance.
Adheres to regulation and policy.
Participates and contributes to the Data Governance Board and owns data outcomes per business domain
Ensures decisions made in the Data Governance Board are implemented in their business domains.
Supports the business domain to ensure concerns regarding data are brought to the and satisfactorily resolved.
Operationally implements data projects and business as usual governance.
Acts as a thought leader, keeping abreast of best practices and new technology and leads the change management process
Builds strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to understand and execute on their data ambitions
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Relevant Tertiary qualification.
Min. 8 yrs demonstrated, relevant experience.
Min 3 years in data practice and/or analysis.
Knowledge of the investment industry is a distinct advantage
Knowledge of Infostore data warehouse is an advantage
