DC Dispatch Assistant Manager - Longmeadow - Night shift at Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Job Description

• Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Longmeadow has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Assistant Manager to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centres incorporating functions in the following areas; Order consolidation,
• Route planning, Dispatch both Local and Line-haul, Returns, Vehicle maintenance and in so doing ensure that both legal and customer requirements are met.

Minimum Requirements:
Essential:

• Grade 12 - Matric or Senior Certificate and relevant
• Relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Minimum 3 Years Management experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment

Advantageous:

• Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems

Job Specification…

• Ensure optimal route and space planning to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives
• Understand and execute the planning process involved when stock leaves the distribution centre
• Routing of vehicles in such a manner to ensure optimum utilisation and vehicle turnaround times
• Ensure all deliveries picked the previous day, are delivered the next day to local stores and within 48 hours to Coastal stores
• Managing the productivity within the Department
• Ensure all managers and supervisors in department manage their staff efficiently
• Resolve personnel problems by analysing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and take corrective action
• Ensure accurate administration for transactional excellence and POD requirements
• Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries
• Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively
• Identify supplier issues that impact required financial objectives and address them at the appropriate level internally and externally

Special conditions of employment:

• MIE, clear criminal and credit
• Driver’s license and/or own reliable transport
• Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements
• Be able to adapt to working hours according to business needs
• Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise
• May at times need to lift or move heavy boxes – ensure health and safety standards
