Department: Applied Physical Sciences: Lecturer - Physics at Vaal University of Technology

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

• Lecture Physics at NQF levels 5, 6, and 7 to students in Applied Sciences and Engineering.
• Develop computer-interactive teaching and learning materials.
• Utilise the Blackboard Learning Management System for interactive online tuition and assessments.
• Restructure the Mathematics curriculum to be career-oriented, in consultation with curriculum coordinators of the various programmes.
• Continuously acquire and apply new knowledge in Mathematics for integration into careeroriented programmes.
• Actively participate in intra- and inter-departmental research initiatives.
• Design and administer appropriate assessments aligned with NQF levels.
• Perform administrative duties that support teaching, learning, research, and community engagement, in line with VUT’s Strategy 2033+.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master of Science in Physics.
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience at tertiary level or relevant industry-related experience.

Recommendation:

• Doctor of Philosophy in Physics.
• Membership with relevant statutory professional bodies (e.g., SACNASP).
• Experience in the utilisation of e-learning platforms beyond Blackboard.
• Research publications in DHET-accredited journals.
