Depot Planner TSSSA Western Cape at Alstom

Minimum Requirements:

• B Tech Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management
• 2 or more years’ experience in process management supervision
• 2 or more work experience in a process/production environment
• Railways and train system instruction/knowledge is preferred
• Maintenance process knowledge is required
• GSI/SAP (CS/PM modules)
• Ability to make decisions, sense of urgency, sets priorities and reacts immediately when confronted with a problem
• Communicating with transparency, delivers clear messages, listen to others, ensure the right approach depending on different stakeholders such as customers, team members, colleagues, superiors and supplier

 Main Responsibilities

• Share with the customer (Prasa) monthly planning schedule to ensure all trains due for maintenance are removed from service and maintained on time.
• Monitor trains through CFM and advise the customer of all the trains that has met on-condition threshold.
• Be informed of any train removal from service (for Preventative maintenance for instance) and take this opportunity to carry out as many other activities as possible (such as other repairs, inspections, retrofit)
• Create and close Preventative maintenance service order on GSI/SAP
• Add material needed by Prasa Preventative maintainers when conditions are met during on-condition maintenance.
• Collect, verify and archive in the system all Preventative maintenance means of proof (MoP) after maintenance execution.
• Consolidate and manage all depot plans (retrofits, PM and EMD recovery)
• Support and play active role during customer contractual audits at the depot level.
• Report weekly and monthly maintenance execution progress (say-do) with central planning office and the depot.
• Verify the monthly maintenance plan from the customer planning and advise the depot Manager if tolerances are not respected.
• Overview visibility crucial spare parts availability. Interfacing with Supply Chain team (using meetings and SAP system) to check if required spare parts are available.
