Design Lead at Nedbank

Job Purpose

Nedbank is looking for a digital design lead with the ability to interpret the brand and marketing needs of clients to drive sales/revenue and convey a certain message to consumers. The ideal candidate must be a team player, conceptually strong and highly skilled in design and layout. Must be able to handle jobs from concept through to roll-out. We're looking for a designer with staying power, to grow with the company and reap the associated rewards. This individual should be a well-rounded digital production expert with a passion for brand marketing, someone who has hands-on experience in designing creative digital assets, digital brand management experience, as well as experience in supporting the operations of a digital production studio, together with client-side experience in managing production jobs.

Job Responsibilities

• Developing concepts, multimedia graphics and layouts for product illustrations and websites in order to build new and  increase current consumer engagement and ROMI 
• Pitch Ideas and produce detailed storyboards using MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. to relay the vision 
• Liaising with stakeholders to determine their requirements and budget 
• Delivering digital assets of the highest quality, within budget and according to scope 
•  Managing client proposals from typesetting through to design and production 
• Working with clients, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales 
• Reviewing and designing final layouts of digital assets 
• Liaising with external agencies on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and produced at the highest quality 
• Support the content marketing and production planning with the Web, Social Media and Paid Media teams 
• Work with the various digital channels teams to schedule content production requirements 
• Mentoring fellow team members on new skills, techniques, trends and programmes 

People Specification

• Must have experience in animation, HTML5 (DDC), basic coding, and video editing. 
• Ability to engage with the agencies on best practices for digital. 
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to work independently and within a team 
• Strong digital project management skills with experience in all digital platforms 
• Ability to negotiate deadlines, deliverables and expectations with clients 
• Proven understanding of the digital production process and the ability to run projects efficiently 
• Solid understanding of production formats across all design formats 
• Natural flair and passion for things design related 

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Diploma
• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

• Bachelor of Arts: Marketing , Bachelor of Commerce: Marketing
• Essential Certifications
• Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA)

Minimum Experience Level

• Relevant Undergraduate Degree, or appropriate Diploma 
• 4 years in digital marketing studio environment in a senior design capacity 
• 4 years’ experience working with Adobe Creative Suite 
• Experience in a digital marketing agency would be highly advantageous 
• Experience in digital user experience and CX design projects would be an added bonus
