Designer (Northern Suburbs (Cape)) at PEP

Description

• To identify the season's trends and combine this with PEP customer knowledge to ensure the most desirable product goes to stores to surprise and delight our customers.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of seasonal trends and find ways to adapt these for our customers. 
• Collaborate with buyers to put the best range forward. 
• Collaborate with buyers on product workshops and seasonal themes.
• Manage the tech pack process and adhere to trigger dates with technologists.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of graphic designers.
• Ensure critical deadlines are met. 
• Keep up to date with competitors through store visits. 
• Build collaborative relationships with the buying team and feed trend information. 
• Presenting ideas to the merchandise team in a professional manner. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Fashion Design Diploma or relevant degree.
• 5 years of design experience within a large retail space.
• Menswear experience is advantageous.. 
• Experience in discount / value retail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Knowledge of fabric, garment construction, and designing into price points.
