    DevOps Engineer

    The Role

    An opportunity is available for an experienced (Python) DevOps Engineer within an International software firm in Johannesburg. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD IDEALLY BE AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY / WITHIN 2 WEEKS

    Responsibilities

    • Writing production-quality code (Python or Java preferred)
    • Database architecture and scripting (SQL or MongoDB)
    • Source control (Gitlab)
    • Shell scripting (Bash preferred)
    • Web services (REST) and associated components (JSON)
    • Working with distributed systems (Apache Zookeeper, Apache Kafka)
    • Linux environments
    • Deploying software both on-premise and in cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
    • Multiple concurrent projects
    • Designing and writing test cases to ensure code quality
    • Configuration and test integration of various data sources
    • Continuous integration
    • Test-driven development

    Qualifications

    • Matric
    • BCom in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering

    Experience

    • 5 Years experience in a mid-level DevOps role
