What you will be doing:

• Lead and develop an IT team, setting goals and fostering career growth.
• Oversee the setup, deployment, and management of scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud-based platforms.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows.
• Implement monitoring and remote management, ensuring compliance with SLAs, security, and best practices.
• Maintain databases and backend systems for performance, security, and scalability.
• Work with development teams to automate deployments, updates, and system configurations.
• Ensure infrastructure and workflows adhere to cybersecurity policies and regulatory compliance.
• Manage the reporting of system performance.
• Manage code repositories, emphasizing Git best practices.
• Manage the website (excluding content) and domain.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, implement proactive measures, optimize Google Cloud Platform, and administer Google Workspace.
• Support the administration of the Qlik SaaS solution.
• Oversee and provide high-level technical support.
• Stay updated with emerging DevOps tools and cloud technologies, applying innovative solutions.

What our client is looking for:

• A relevant tertiary degree would be beneficial (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.)
• 10+ years in a similar role with proven experience in leading small teams and scaling an organization's IT capability.
• Strong working knowledge of databases, cloud architecture, hosting environments, Linux, and scripting.
• Basic Python or willingness to learn is essential for data pipelines.
• PostgreSQL, SQLite, Redis, Firebase, Mongo DB, Google Cloud, Qlik, R, Go, and GitHub would be beneficial.
• Strong leadership / communication skills with the ability to work independently.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities, with an SLA-driven mindset.
• Strong problem-solving orientation in a dynamic environment.
• Hands-on operator who thrives on automating workflows and is passionate about using the latest tech for remote monitoring and management.

Work Type:

• 12 month renewable contract - Hybrid work environment with 3 days in office
