    Digital Media Communications Manager

    The Digital Media Communications Manager reports into the Lead: Digital Media Communications (Fashion, Beauty, Home and Integrated Trade) and is responsible for managing and building the Woolworths Fashion, Beauty and Home digital media strategy and communities.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Act as an advocate for and representative of Woolworths within the digital media community.
    • Implement/roll out of community content action plans.
    • Conceptualising and briefing Agency on the production of content, and liaising with Online/Brand and the broader Customer Team as to appropriate digital media customer journeys.
    • Escalating community issues to the Head of Digital Communications timeously and managing crisis social communication when required.
    • Scheduling and management of all Fashion, Beauty and Home content published on Woolworths Social Media platforms and partner networks.
    • Assisting in developing content, digital advertising and community strategies that foster community spirit and engaging dialogue in line with the Woolworths Brand Values.
    •  Assisting with the production of various content types and advertising material across digital platforms
    • Publishing, moderation, responding to and managing all conversations on Woolworths social media and other digital media platforms.
    • Ensuring all digital content developed is appropriate, relevant and effectively meets strategy, trade, online and campaign requirements
    • Maintaining effective digital media journeys, allowing for the prompt and accurate dissemination of information and feedback to all relevant parties, e.g. Brand, Customer Services, PR, Online, Marketing, Trade etc.
    • Local travel for digital coverage of shoots and events.
    • Monitoring alerts, online community tools, technologies and applications and produce weekly and monthly ORM and Trade reports, in line with guidelines and targets set by the Head of Digital Media.
    • Maintaining creativity and thought leadership in the Digital Media Team, Marketing Department and Woolworths business as a whole.
    • Keeping abreast of local and international digital content trends and benchmark Woolworths to a global standard.

    KEY COMPETENCIES

    • A knowledge of the fashion and beauty landscape, both in South Africa and abroad
    • Degree or Diploma in Journalism/Communication/Marketing/Advertising 
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a Community Management role
    • 2 years copy writing experience
    • Knowledge of:
    •  - Content and community strategy
    •  - Online social and content industry and market trends
    •  - Digital Marketing platforms and tools
    •  - Knowledge of industry technology and tools 
    •  Strong command of the English language and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    •  Business writing skills
    • Attention to detail
    •  Strong administration and interpersonal skills
    •  Strong Stakeholder Management skills
    •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    •  Business acumen
    •  PC Literacy: MS Office suite
    •  Ability to work after hours when required
    • Ability to attend Photo shoots and certain events
    • Ability to work on multiple projects
    •  Project management experience
