Digital to Print Specialist at Kontak Recruitment

• A signage and custom build manufacturing company specialising in branding installations, exhibition builds, and large-format visual production is seeking a Digital to Print Specialist to join the Design Lab. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for converting digital artwork into high-quality printed and laser-finished products across a range of materials. The position ensures the seamless transition from design to production by preparing print-ready files, operating digital and large-format printers, and running laser machines used for cutting, engraving, and etching. The role requires strong technical knowledge of print production, high attention to detail, and the ability to maintain brand accuracy and visual quality in a fast-paced production environment

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a creative production or print design environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and prioritise within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interpret and execute briefs with speed and precision
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of large-format printing and CNC cutting technologies
• Familiarity with custom builds, branding installations, and exhibition environments

Duties and Responsibilities:
Graphic Design and Layout Preparation

• Design or adapt layouts for various print formats
• Apply brand identity standards across all design outputs
• Prepare print-ready artwork using the necessary systems

Ensure correct file setup including: Bleeds, Crop marks, Resolution, Colour profiles

• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues before production

Print File Setup

• Convert digital artwork into production-ready formats

Perform pre-print checks including: Imposition, Trapping, Bleed setup

• Conduct digital proofing for colour accuracy
• Prepare files for accurate colour reproduction
• Collaborate with designers and production leads to confirm technical specifications

Digital and Large Format Printer Operation

• Operate and maintain digital and large-format printers
• Load and align media for printing
• Adjust machine settings to maintain print quality and consistency
• Monitor print jobs for colour accuracy and output quality
• Perform calibration and maintenance to minimise downtime

Laser Machine Operation

• Set up and operate laser machines for cutting, engraving, and etching
• Work with a variety of materials used in signage and custom builds
• Interpret design files for laser cutting operations
• Adjust settings such as speed, power, and frequency depending on material
• Prepare vector files and ensure correct cutting paths
• Conduct quality checks including edge finishing and engraving depth
• Maintain machine cleanliness and functionality
• Ensure ventilation and safety systems are maintained according to standards
