    Direct Sales Executive

    Purpose of the role

    Generate sales

    • Manage and service a portfolio of direct advertising clients to ensure targets are achieved
    • Grow sales by pitching clients in an effort to meet targets
    • Carry out any reasonable request by the Direct Sales Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a portfolio of advertising clients to ensure targets are achieved
    • Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to new and existing clients to negotiate and close deals
    • Create tailored solutions that meet the client’s short and long term needs
    • Identify and generate new business opportunities on an ongoing basis to achieve sales targets
    • Cold calling has to be part of your strategy
    • Build working relationships with clients and maintain a high level of client interaction to ensure that their specific requirements are addressed in order to grow and monitor business
    • Report on sales activities and achievement as required (weekly and monthly)
    • Provide professional and exceptional client service in all interactions with clients
    • Maintain a high level of relevant industry knowledge
    • Keep abreast of all administrative and sales support duties
    • Carry out any reasonable request relating to Direct Sales which may include after-hours work


    • Grade 12


    • At least 3 -5 years’ experience in advertising/media sales environment, (radio experience an advantage)

    Organisational and administrative skills

    • Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans – written and verbal
    • Negotiation skills
    • Sales ability and persuasion
    • Strong problem solving ability and negotiation skills
    • Excellent presentation skills

    Other competencies and further requirements

    • Excellent computer literacy in MS Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, CRM software )
    • Possession of a valid driver’s licence, own vehicle, cell phone & Internet Access
