Director Clinical, Medical and Regulatory at Novo Nordisk

The position

As Director, Clinical Medical Regulatory (CMR), you will manage and direct all clinical, medical, regulatory, patient safety and patient education operations of Novo Nordisk South Africa in full compliance with SOP’s, local procedures, and corporate and legal requirements.

You will lead and coach a team of nearly 90 people with both direct and indirect reports, driving performance and change management as we broaden our commitment in chronic diseases, whilst also successfully navigating a complex internal and external stakeholder landscape.

You will support new business opportunities and strategic our strategic aspirations considering the short-, medium-, and long-term business needs and at the same time driving a highly efficient team to meet their business goals. This role requires a dynamic approach with a growth mindset to support Novo Nordisk in times of exciting change and a incredible future ahead.

As a people leader, you will maintain employee engagement and represent Novo Nordisk in terms of vision, values, and commitment in daily conduct through performance management, coaching and talent development.

Qualifications

• You have a Master’s degree and/or postgraduate diploma within medicine and/or biomedical science with strong experience leading similar function of medical and clinical affairs in multinational pharmaceutical company.
• Experience in engaging with regulatory bodies and industry KOLs, able to influence and build strong and trusted relationships.
• Excellent leadership skills and a good eye for people development.
• You can communicate effectively in English, discuss strategies in a way that impacts key stakeholders and able to build trusted relationships cross functionally in a matrix environment.
• Understanding of product development at a strategic level, health economics as well as strong awareness in terms of the entire value chain
