Job Description

The Faculty of Law invites applications of eligible candidates to apply for the position of Director in the Rhodes University Law Clinic, at the level of Senior Lecturer and/or Associate Professor.

Requirements:

An LLM at the Senior Lecturer level or a relevant PhD at the Associate Professor level coupled with fives years’ relevant experience that includes:-

• Admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Qualification as a principal attorney in terms of Rules 6(5), 6(6) and 6(8) of the Legal Practice Act no. 28 of 2014.
• At least five years’ experience as an attorney.
• Previous management and supervision experience.
• Previous teaching and research experience within a University environment, preferably in the field of Clinical Law
• Previous experience with paralegals and rural communities will be an advantage.
• Previous fundraising experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
