About The Role

• We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to partner with our Africa region operations and Group Functions to strengthen risk management across the business.
• In this role, you will help identify and assess key risks, ensure effective controls are in place, and support the organisation in making informed decisions that protect value and enable long-term success. 
• You’ll work across a wide variety of mining-related risk areas—operational, financial, strategic and sustainability—while engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships, challenge constructively, and bring clarity and insight to complex risk landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and support the management of strategic, operational and emerging risks across the Africa region.
• Partner with regional operations and Group Functions to strengthen risk controls and drive continuous improvement.
• Facilitate accurate and meaningful risk reporting, ensuring key risks are elevated to the appropriate level.
• Build capability across the business by working closely with risk champions and practitioners.
• Support governance, planning and assurance activities through high-quality risk insights and data.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., finance, engineering, science, social sciences).
• A formal risk management qualification is desirable but not essential where capability is demonstrated through extensive practical application.
• Ability to engage credibly across the full spectrum of mining-related risks (operational, financial, strategic, sustainability) and influence effectively at all levels of the organisation.
• Advanced knowledge and practical application of risk management processes and techniques.
• Significant experience operating within the African context, with an understanding of national, regional, and cultural differences and their impact on risk and decision-making.
