Our client in the logistics industry is seeking a dynamic Distribution Center Manager to lead operations with precision, adaptability, and strategic insight. This is a pivotal role for a professional who thrives in fast‑changing environments and can run a DC as if it were their own business.
Key Responsibilities
Decision making: Confidently pivot and troubleshoot in a rapidly evolving logistics environment.
KPI reporting: Deliver accurate performance metrics and drive operational excellence.
Cost management: Ensure financial efficiency while adhering to SOPs.
Mentorship: Guide and develop existing staff into high‑performing teams.
Client relations: Build strong partnerships with clients, requiring travel (own car and valid driver’s license essential).
Labour management: Experience working with 3rd‑party labour companies (dual employee‑ship).
Risk awareness: Maintain a sharp sense of risk factors impacting operations.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate (Matric)
Diploma in Road & Transport Management, Warehousing, or related field
Computer literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Leadership experience: Minimum 3 years in a middle management role within warehousing
Team management: Proven ability to lead a team of leaders
Health & Safety knowledge: Experience in managing programmes according to legal specifications (An added advantage)
Willing to travel: Own car and valid driver’s license
