Work Description

• The District Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the implementation of health systems strengthening projects and activities in a district. To manage relevant internal and external stakeholder relations and manage line staff.

Technical Work Responsibilities

• Liaison with External and Internal Stakeholders towards achievement of operational goals
• District operations management
• Apply project management knowledge and principles
• Provide guidance to district management teams to ensure effective and efficient implementation of District operational plans
• Drafting of District operational plans and reports
• Budget management and cost control (with support from Aurum Finance)
• Human capital management

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Health / Social Sciences or other relevant field
• Certificate in Project Management or other management field

Advantageous

• Certificate in Management
• Registration at HPCSA / SANC

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a medical healthcare environment with at least 2 years’ senior management experience
• Experience in dealing with HIV/AIDS and TB
• Business management and/or budgeting and financial management experience
• Project management experience

Requirements

• Driver’s licence
• SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
• Basic computer skills
• Advanced computer skills
• Own car
• Minimal/Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required.
• Willing to work overtime.
