Draughtsman X3 at Trans Africa Projects

Purpose of the Job:

• To provide a draughting and design service for substation design as per client specification.
• Executing application design within the greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Knowledge of design philosophies and standards.

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):

• Design a product for the client that details all the technical aspects of the design and highlights errors.
• Creation of Control Plant application designs and Proficient in CAD 2D design and detailing of Power Plant HV and MV substations, line structures and components, civil platforms, access roads, drainage, lighting, lightning protection, architectural buildings, mechanical components, structural components, reinforced concrete.
• Geo-coordinating sites and drawings between CAD and Google Earth.
• Be responsible for the production of all project drawings upon request to the relevant standards and procedures.
• Ensure that all drawings and work instructions are kept up to date.
• Produce Bill of material offs and prepare material lists.
• Ensure the quality of products and services is maintained and make improvements to the processes where necessary.
• Work under the supervision of the Engineer or Senior Draughtsman.
• Carry out regular programme monitoring to identify changes in the status of the project.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5-10 Years draughting experience (towers, lines, substations), Microsoft Office. MicroStation, CAD Proficient.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Overhead Power Lines Design experience and high voltage substations.

Other competencies and requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience high voltage substations and/or overhead line Civil.
