    Due Diligence Analyst (Location Agnostic)

    The Role

    We are looking for a Due Diligence Analyst to provide partner due diligence support to the group due diligence shared services function and team. The Due Diligence Analyst will be required to support MFS Africa’s adherence to legal standards, best practice and in-house policies in respect of CDD (Customer Due Diligence), EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence), risk ratings, record keeping and monitoring.

    We are looking for a person with either a compliance/risk background or a due diligence operations/quality assurance background. This position will report to the Due Diligence Operations Manager and is location agnostic; however, a candidate’s home time zone will be relevant to success in the role (GMT –1 to +3 preferred).

    You will be a good fit if you are:

    • Strong analytical skills; can organize and analyze complex data sets
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • High propensity towards execution and attention to detail
    • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently
    • Passionate about consistency, quality and work integrity
    • Knowledge of mobile money industry is advantageous
    • Proficiency in written and spoken French is advantageous

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Review CDD and EDD for on-boarding corporate customers (the "Partners”) across the Group’s multiple markets
    • Research adverse media for potential partners and stakeholders utilizing the public domain and third-party databases
    • Calculate partner risk rating and update Due Diligence partner database
    • Escalate high risk customers to Management and obtain approval as per established policies and procedures
    • Generate and analyze required data to support periodic Management and Compliance reports
    • Engage with existing partners on continuous reviews of CDD/EDD information based on the customer risk rating
    • Enhance CDD/EDD recordkeeping and reporting processes by updating partner CDD/EDD database with the most recent partner information
    • Monitoring and performing quality assurance to ensure the CDD/EDD partner information is valid and up to date
    • Analyze and update procedural operational due diligence processes and procedures
    • Provide support for ad-hoc operational due diligence projects 

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: 

    • Bachelors’ degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
    • 1+ year relevant experience in Compliance, Risk, Due Diligence Operations or Quality Assurance
    • Pan-African experience is advantageous
