    e-Commerce Lead

    Job Description    

    • LEGiT, a division of Pepkor Trading, is looking for a dynamic and commercially driven E-Commerce professional to lead and grow our online presence. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for digital retail, who can drive online revenue, optimise performance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience across all e-commerce platforms. You will play a key role in shaping and executing our e-commerce strategy, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainable growth and innovation in a fast-paced environment.

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor's degree / diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Systems, E-commerce, or a related field

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience    

    • 5–7 years of progressive experience in e-commerce, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or senior management role
    • Proven track record of driving significant online revenue growth and improving key e-commerce metrics
    • Extensive experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, WooCommerce, Stock to Shop)
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, Social Media, Email Marketing, and Content Marketing
    • Deep knowledge of e-commerce best practices, trends, and emerging technologies
    • Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) with strong data interpretation skills
    • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
    • Familiarity with inventory management systems, payment gateways, and logistics solutions
    • Working knowledge of IT systems and website development processes related to e-commerce
    • Strong understanding of consumer behaviour and online purchasing psychology
    • Awareness of relevant e-commerce laws and regulations (e.g., CPA, POPIA, ECT Act)

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Develop and execute long-term e-commerce strategies aligned with business objectives
    • Analyse performance data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies
    • Drive continuous improvement of online performance, customer experience, and conversion rates
    • Manage multiple projects effectively while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Communicate clearly and persuasively with stakeholders at all levels
    • Proactively identify challenges and implement effective, scalable solutions
    • Ensure strong commercial focus with an emphasis on profitability and ROI
    • Leverage e-commerce platforms, digital tools, and web technologies to optimise operations
    • Adapt quickly to change and thrive in an evolving digital landscape
