EHS Coordinator is responsible for executing Global EHS Strategies to ensure compliance with Local Regulations and Standards.
This includes the use of guidelines, self assessments, inspections, training and other programs to enable the subsidiary to deliver consistent, superior EHS performance and be in compliance with all Standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities -
Lead the development and execution of an annual EHS management action plan for the facility to ensure ongoing compliance with both regulatory requirements and Standards
Provide EHS technical expertise and leadership to help the subsidiary deliver excellence in execution
Set local goals (KPI’S) and ensure that data is correctly reported into the global databases. Periodically report progress to all employees at the facility. Track trends and analyse the data to prioritise actions.
Ensure that the deliverance and execution of both Corporate and local EHS training programs
Lead or participate in Corporate EHS audits at facilities within their specific Division but not in their own site.
Participate in optimising and standardising factory designs for improved EHS performance. Assure consistent and complete EHS Technology Transfer between functions within organisation and within functions in their local subsidiary.
Actively participate in design teams for key engineering projects
Ensure sign off on all ‘Management of Change’ projects to ensure EHS compliance.
Capture key learnings, best practices, potential issues / trends and opportunities for improvement and communicate locally on a regular basis.
Participate in the investigation of all incidents and accidents and near misses. Ensure that lessons learned are codified and shared as appropriate and that corrective action has been taken to remediate the root cause of the incident, accident or near miss.
Ensure that all regulatory permits are maintained current and that the facility remains in compliance at all times.
Visibly and actively maintain a high profile EHS presence on the shop floor and ensure that EHS is given the necessary attention.
Maintain professional memberships with outside EHS organisations as appropriate and ensure transfer of knowledge .
Participate on Local, Regional and Global EHS task forces and projects from time to time.
Required Qualifications -
A Bachelor's Degree/Diploma equivalent in Environment Health and Safety
Minimum 5 year Environmental, Health and Safety experience in an Fast Moving Goods or any manufacturing environment
Knowledge of local market, requirements, laws and regulations is essential i.e. LRA,EE,HSE etc.
Ability to build a trust relationship across all levels of the organisation.
Ability to deal with conflicting requests and opinions from different stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively
Deductive and logic to interpret sets of results and take corrective action
Judgement and analytical reasoning to make decisions on appropriate courses of action
Computer literacy relating to proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel) and SAP
