Electrical and C&I Draughtsman - Cape Town at Hire Resolve

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Design Engineers to understand requirements by reading, understanding and applying project specifications.
• Assist with concept, basic and detailed designs – producing design drawings for MV, LV and DC system.
• Provide support during installation activities – verifying as-built statuses, updating drawings, amending designs, assisting with test and commissioning activities.
• Ensure and control quality of work produced.
• Produce drawings in line with designated timelines.
• Integration of electrical and C&I design with civil, mechanical, and piping.

Requirements

• Minimum National Certificate level 5 in a relevant draughting qualification from an accredited college or equivalent, OR
• National Diploma in electrical / electronic engineering from an accredited university or equivalent,
• Minimum of 4 years in the area of C&I and electrical design
• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry and Renewable Energy will be an advantage
• Good understanding of General Arrangement Layouts, Single Line Diagrams, Circuit Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Fire Detection Layouts, Small Power and Lighting, Solar Plant Layouts, etc.
• Knowledge of Electrical Underground Ducts, Electrical Grounding, Small Power & Lighting, Electrical Equipment Layout, Cable Tray Layouts, and Standard Installation detail drawings.
• Good practical knowledge of control systems – PLC, DCS.
• Working knowledge of LV, MV, DC system designs.
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and its Regulations.
• Good understanding of quality systems – ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001.
• Working knowledge of standards and practices within the C&I / electrical discipline.
• Proficiency with AVEVA, AutoCAD /AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation software, and other 3D software.
• Clear communication (written and spoken).
• Administrative skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
