• Research analyses and evaluates requirements for Electrical,Control & Instrumentation systems.
• Designs, develops, tests, Commissions and maintains Electrical, control & instrumentation systems and reviews the work done in cases where the activities are outsourced.

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• B-Tech/BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering (Advantage)
• ECSA Candidate Membership (Advantage)

Required Skills:

• 5 Years’ Experience in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years’ Experience working with Siemens Systems like PLC, HMI & SCADA (Compulsory)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

System Design and Development:

• Write program code for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), design and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and HMIs according to the customer requirements.

Technical Documentation:

• Prepare schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation for electrical systems, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Calculate, design, specify material for manufacturing and installation, and supervise the electrical design, manufacturing and installation of MCCs, PLC panels, SCADA and HMI.

Testing and Commissioning:

• Conduct functional tests, debugging, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems to ensure correct functionality and integration.
• Oversee the commissioning of electrical systems, automation of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and instruments.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical, and civil engineers, to ensure seamless project execution and integration of E,C&I systems.
• To assist, when and as required, in project cost estimates for tender projects, or engineering services to aid management in bidding on or determining the price of projects or services.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation designs comply with relevant international standards and codes of practice. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Management:

• Develop project schedules and budgets, monitor and review the performance of electrical engineering management systems, and implement improvements to optimize the efficiency of engineering activities.

General & Training

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
