• Accurate and safe Supervision and set-up of electrical equipment, installation, maintenance and commissioning of electrical wiring, control and instrumentation systems, fault finding and repairs on electrical systems on site and in the workshop as well as providing administrative support to the Project Manager. Coordination of project execution, documentation, perform project research, and assist in data entry tasks.

Required: Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12)
• N3-N6 Electrical Engineering Certificate
• ND in Electrical Engineering (Advantage)
• 3 Phase Wireman’s License (Non-negotiable)
• ORHVS Certificate (Non-negotiable)
• First Aid Level 1 (Advantage)

Required: Experience

• 3-5 Years’ experience in electrical areas within an Engineering or Construction environment.
• 3-5 years’ post experience relevant to the maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including back-up generators, interior & exterior lighting, MV switchgear and transformers, Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s) and LV building installations
• 3 Years Fault Finding & Repairs.
• 3 years Electrical Experience in Panel Wiring

Job Specification & Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Be involved in Installations of electrical equipment and assist with commissioning.
• Fault finding on electrical systems.
• Maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including back-up generators, interior & exterior lighting, MV switchgear and transformers, Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s) and LV building installations
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
•  Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as MCC’s.

• Research analyses and evaluates requirements for Electrical,Control & Instrumentation systems.

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)

• ECSA Candidate Membership (Advantage)

Required Skills:

• 5 Years’ Experience in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years’ Experience working with Siemens Systems like PLC, HMI & SCADA (Compulsory)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

System Design and Development:

• Write program code for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), design and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and HMIs according to the customer requirements.

Technical Documentation:

• Prepare schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation for electrical systems, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Calculate, design, specify material for manufacturing and installation, and supervise the electrical design, manufacturing and installation of MCCs, PLC panels, SCADA and HMI.

Testing and Commissioning:

• Conduct functional tests, debugging, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems to ensure correct functionality and integration.
• Oversee the commissioning of electrical systems, automation of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and instruments.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical, and civil engineers, to ensure seamless project execution and integration of E,C&I systems.
• To assist, when and as required, in project cost estimates for tender projects, or engineering services to aid management in bidding on or determining the price of projects or services.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation designs comply with relevant international standards and codes of practice. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Management:

• Develop project schedules and budgets, monitor and review the performance of electrical engineering management systems, and implement improvements to optimize the efficiency of engineering activities.

General & Training

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
