    Electrical Foreman

    • A leading manufacturer serving the Mining industry is looking for an experienced Electrical Foreman to join their team.

    Qualified Electrician.

    • 5 yrs plus manufacturing experience.
    • 2 yrs Leadership experience. 
    • Expertise in high and medium voltage systems.
    • Skilled in AC/DC variable speed drives (installation & commissioning).
    • PLC fault-finding proficiency.
    • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
    • Wireman’s License (advantageous).

    Minimum requirements:

    • Trade tested (red seal) Electrical / Millwright
    • At least 8 - 10 years Electrical experience.  
    • Previous work experience as a Team Leader or Foreman.
    • Extensive high and medium voltage experience.
    • Extensive PLC fault finding, programming and installation.
    • Experience in the installation of AC/DC variable speed drives and commissioning.
    • Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems,  installations and commissioning.

    Duties and responsibilities amongst others:

    • Carry out repairs and planned maintenance to all electrical equipment on site.
    • Do electrical installation on new equipment on site.
    • Upon sanction approval- Modify and improve existing equipment and to optimize the capacity of such equipment.
    • Ensure the legal compliance of all electrical installations and equipment.
    • Manage a team of electricians, assistants and apprentices.
    • Diagnose and carry out repairs to faulty machinery.
    • Distribute the equipment and materials to allow the team to perform the assigned activities.
    • Ensure the team adheres to applicable safety standards.
    • Coordinate and check the work carried out by the team, reporting any deviations to the manager.
    • Plan and coordinate the daily work routines of electricians and ensure effective shift cover.
    • Ensure overtime is managed effectively and kept within budget.
    • Order and control of critical spare parts.
