Job Description

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

• Carry out installations of new power supplies and AC 3-phase motors.
• On occasion required to carry out miscellaneous legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as instructed by the Electrician or Maintenance Team Leader.
• To report faulty appliances or damaged equipment. Carrying out work as per the required job cards.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, rules and regulations.
• Issue of Certificates of Compliance (COC’s) for electrical installations.

MAINTENANCE

• Carry out breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Testing and commissioning of projects.
• Make use of electrical testing equipment of power and hand tools.
• Preventative maintenance of electrical lighting across the plant.
• Conduct general housekeeping in the workshop.
• Maintenance of electrical lighting across plant.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum educational requirement Grade 12 with post matric qualification of a NQF Level 3
• Must have a valid unrestricted wireman’s license (Electrical COC).
• Must have a valid Electrical Trade Test in possession
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in production, workshop, plant, maintenance.
• Previous experience in mentoring and leading apprentice.
• Must have good electrical engineering skills.
• Must possess skill in the use of the tools associated with trade area, i.e. hand and power tools, measuring equipment, etc., as well as arrange of testing devices.
• Must be computer literate MS Office (Word/Excel and Outlook.
