Electrician at Anglo American

Job Description

As an Electrician at our Sishen Mine, you are expected maintain and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limit.

Some of the other responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of efficiency, which includes installations, commissioning of equipment are maintained as specified in the strategy

• Providing advice in all maintenance related matters and ad hoc jobs to all concerned parties in a pro-active manner aligned with best practices and within agreed upon timeframes to avoid possible problems and uplift competence base

• Providing assistance according to own level / area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives

• Ensuring information provided is accurate and understandable, provide regular feedback and monitor progress to successfully develop and equip learners / team members with the necessary competencies

• Ensuring Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards & procedures

This role is in the Asset Strategy & Reliability Mining Maintenance department at a J4 level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical

• N2

• Qualified/Relevant Trade Certificate as an Artisan (Electrician)

• Code 08 Drivers Licence

• MV Certificate (advantageous)

Experience:

• 2 Years’ experience as an Artisan
