Electrician - Boksburg at RCL Foods

Job Description    

• RCL Foods is looking a qualified and experienced Electrician to our Spreads division in Boksburg. The successful incumbent will report to the Engineering Superintendent.
• Purpose of the role is to ensure efficient and effective electrical maintenance with a high standard of workmanship and safety practices.

Minimum Requirements    
Education & Qualification

• Completed N3 and relevant Electrical Trade Test

Experience and Training

• 5 years’ experience as an Electrician, within FMCG Manufacturing
• MV training is a must (Medium voltage Valid certificate)
• Must have worked on AC and DC Drives
• PLC experience and training (Certificate on attendance)
• Exposure on instrumentation

Duties & Responsibilities    
MAINTENANCE

• To ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance to all electrical equipment.
• When all maintenance work carried out is proven to be both efficient and cost effective.
• To be pro-active in identifying potential faults/breakdowns before they occur.
• When faults/breakdowns are kept to a minimum as a result of plant inspections and awareness.
• To perform various projects of an electrical nature.
• When projects are completed in agreed times and to the correct specifications.
• To ensure that all breakdowns are attended to in a cost-effective manner.
• When production downtime due to breakdowns is kept at a satisfactory level.
• To ensure the continued good condition of all equipment.
• When all equipment is maintained as per proper practice.

STAND-BY DUTY

• To be willing to do stand-by duty.
• When generally willing to take turns doing the required stand-by.
• To ensure that all call outs are answered promptly and efficiently.
• When production losses are not adversely affected by failure to answer calls and lack of proper fault-finding techniques.

OVERTIME

• To be willing to perform work outside of normal working hours.
• When work does not fall behind as a result of unwillingness to work overtime.

SAFETY / HOUSEKEEPING

• To practice and enforce Siqalo Foods codes of safety and housekeeping.
• When standards of safety and housekeeping comply with Siqalo Foods policy in this regard.
• To ensure compliance to the work permit / lockout system in use at Siqalo Foods.
• When the work permit / lockout system is adhered to.

ADMIN

• To ensure that all information submitted on work orders is correct.
• When misleading information is not submitted on work orders or information is omitted.
• To ensure that all completed work orders / documentation is timeously submitted to foreman to check.
• When no backlogs occur due to delays in submitting completed work orders and other documentation.

GENERAL

To ensure no comeback jobs.

• When maintenance costs do not rise as a result of poor workmanship.

To ensure no unnecessary fines for maximum demand from C.C.P.

• When power factor correction is kept in working order and weekly inspections carried out.

To ensure that proper fault-finding procedures are correctly followed.

• When unnecessary costs are not incurred as a result of poor fault-finding techniques.

To ensure proper time management.

• When productivity is not affected by slack time management.
