Supreme Poultry’s Agri Division is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our technical and maintenance team. This role is critical to ensuring the uninterrupted running of our Poultry Breeding Farm operations by maintaining essential electrical and mechanical systems that support bird welfare, production processes, and strict biosecurity compliance.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric.
Recognised trade qualification (Red Seal – Electrician).
Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport.
High Voltage Certificate (advantageous).
2–3 years’ practical experience as an Electrician, preferably in an agricultural or poultry production environment.
Working knowledge of poultry facility systems such as automated feeding, watering, ventilation, heating, and climate control (beneficial).
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out electrical and general maintenance across poultry houses, hatchery infrastructure, and farm facilities.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical control panels, wiring, motors, lighting, and backup power systems.
Conduct regular inspections of transformers, circuit breakers, ventilation fans, climate control equipment, and other poultry-specific electrical systems.
Troubleshoot faults using appropriate diagnostic tools, ensuring minimal downtime in poultry operations.
Support preventative maintenance on critical poultry equipment such as incubators, water pumps, generators, and heating/airflow systems.
Oversee maintenance team tasks and schedules to ensure smooth running of all farm utilities and infrastructure.
Ensure strict compliance with biosecurity standards to safeguard flock health.
Maintain compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
Assist with administrative and supervisory duties, including leave planning, timesheets, and disciplinary procedures when required.
Be available for flexible hours, including standby, weekend, and emergency callouts
