Electrician - Krugersdorp at RCL Foods

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric 
• Qualified Electrician 
• 5 years experience working with filling and packing high speed machines. 

Competencies: 

• Systematic approach to problem solving 
• Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies (TPM, WCM, RCM) 
• Logical reasoning 
• Communication and collaborating with teams to solve issues 
• Sound knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical equipment and components (Motors, VSD’s, Starters,PLC’s, HMI, SCADA, Instruments) 
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings 
• Sound knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations 
• Ability to faultfind on interconnected and complex systems 
• Understands food safety and applicable requirements

Duties & Responsibilities    

Maintenance 

• Designing improvements on electrical systems 
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams 
• Performing routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment 
• Identifying and repairing breakdowns, faults and malfunctions 
• Testing and inspecting electrical and control systems 
• Ensuring new and existing installations comply with applicable standards and regulations. 
• Manages obsolesce and technology advancements for electrical and control equipment and components. 
• Maintains inventory of critical electrical spares through collaboration with suppliers and engineering stores Motors, VSD’s, Controllers, HMI’s, Field instruments, PLC’s, Control cards, Lead and coordinate periodic instruments calibrations 
• Resolve deviations noted on the thermal (Infra-red) imaging report to prevent failure of electrical components. 
• Maintain luminairs in area of responsibility 

Safety 

• Maintain electrical and control panels in accordance with electrical machinery regulations 
• Identify and resolve or report safety deviations in the factory in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act provisions 

Quality and Food Safety 

• Ensure ongoing implementation (and where possible improvement) of the Quality and Food Safety system through the systematic implementation of the relevant food safety requirements. 
• Striclty apply the requirements as defined in the Food Safety RACI Matrix and relevant policies and procedures (SOP’s). 

Customer Relationships 

Internal 

• Frequent liaison with production teams, Maintenance planning and engineering stores. 

External 

• Contractors and service providers.
