Electronic Technician at RPO Recruitment

Job Description

• A well-established electronic security solutions company is looking for an experienced Electronic Technician with strong technical support, fault-finding, and electronic repair experience within the security industry.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for technical support, maintenance and installation of electronic communication systems, customer assistance, and monitoring communication infrastructure while ensuring excellent service delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide telephonic technical support and guidance to customers regarding installations, equipment operation, and troubleshooting
• Log, monitor, report, and follow up on support calls and technical queries
• Monitor and maintain communication infrastructure and related systems
• Conduct field repairs, maintenance, and installations on radio equipment, repeaters, and base stations
• Assist with technical department operations and support technical staff where required
• Travel to customer sites locally and internationally when required
• Support the Sales and Marketing team during customer visits, demonstrations, and exhibitions
• Participate in after-hours standby support on a rotational basis
• Maintain accurate administrative records, reporting, and documentation
• Uphold professional company standards and customer service excellence at all times

Requirements:

• Previous experience within the South African security or electronic communications industry
• Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals and electronic fault finding
• Experience repairing and maintaining electronic products and communication systems
• Knowledge of alarm installations, alarm control panels, and alarm communication systems
• Understanding of security control room operations and monitoring software
• Good MS Office and Excel skills
• Basic networking knowledge and general technical aptitude
• Strong administrative, reporting, and record-keeping abilities
• Excellent communication skills in English and/or Afrikaans
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to travel when required
