Engineer (Production)- Furnaces at Glencore

Job highlights:

• Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering (NQF Level 7)
• 5 Years similar industry experience and 3 Years supervisory experience

Coordinate the day-to-day operation on two submerged-arc furnaces, including:

• Raw materials management and costs control
• Manage and develop the metallurgical database and plant reports as per schedule.
• Monitor plant metallurgy, recipe accuracy and models.
• Manage plant KPI’s and achieving those targets.
• Improved programming and data analysis
• Electrode management
• Analysing and interpreting plant historian database and graphs
• Re-engineering, optimization, and improvements (including technology and automation)
• Ensure compliance tall applicable safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate the team of production employees.
• Lead incident investigations (ICAM) and participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses
