Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform line inspections, servitude maintenance hardware defect repairs and operating
• Perform line fault investigations
• Assist in restoration operations during power line emergencies
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental policies
• Operate, inspect and maintain tools and equipment
• Enhance customer and stakeholder relations

• ORHVS authorisation to take handover
• Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and hazardous substances
• Basic line component identification
• Vegetation management
• Principles of electrical theory
• Level 3 line construction competency authorisation
• Basic line construction
• Eskom business, procedures, directives, Conditions of Service and financial procedures
• Lines software applications
• Basic rigging
• Operating of lines tools and equipment

• Valid driver's license code C1

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s):

• Trade Certificate Electrical (Light Current/Heavy Current) at NQF4 with 120 credits

Experience:

• 2 years NTCSA network and discipline related equipment (Lines and Servitudes)
