Engineering Controller - JC Le Roux at Distell

The Job

• Applications are invited for the above mentioned position to be based in JC Le Roux Devon Valley Stellenbosch. This person will report to the Operations Manager.

Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Provide quality service in optimizing all the assets within agreed service levels with competent and empowered employees to exceed business requirements.
• Required to ensure that all statutory requirements are met at all times.
• Resource management, recording and monitoring to ensure efficient asset utilization.
• Ensure effective management and adherence to maintenance plans.
• Ensure efficient asset utilization and plan utilities availability.
• Ensure that plant maintenance standards are met and that the necessary RCM principles are applied.
• Perform and manage all aspects pertaining to the Maintenance ICC’s.
• Help with the increased of OEE on all the lines and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Compile, manage and control of the maintenance budget for the site.
• Assist with compiling short and long term equipment replacement plans.
• Manage abnormal and capex projects whilst adhering to the Distell procurement procedure.
• Ensure compliance to OHSACT and all Distell Risk, Health and Safety procedures and statutory requirements.
• Ensure training and coaching in the department takes place and develop a culture of continuous improvement that is maintained at all levels.

The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

• Must have relevant qualifications, N3 with Trade Test, N6 will be beneficial.
• Must have knowledge of the wine environment with emphasis on bottling experience.
• Experience in Managing and leading a team is essential.
• Experience in Managing a mini business area is essential.
• Ability to work independently, identify and solve problems and make relevant decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Be self-motivated and action driven.
• Be a team player and innovator.
• Sound leadership and conflict handling experience.
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities are essential.
• Computer literate including SAP experience.
• Must have own reliable transport.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
