Engineering Integration Manager at Salt South Africa

• This role blends technical leadership and people leadership. You’ll lead a team of engineers, own a critical integration platform, and help shape how digital systems scale across markets.
• You won’t just manage, you’ll influence architecture, improve delivery, and grow engineers.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers
• Creating a healthy, high‑performance engineering culture
• Owning the architecture and delivery of backend and integration platforms
• Guiding designs for APIs, event-driven systems, and integrations
• Partnering with product and business stakeholders on priorities
• Overseeing sprint planning, delivery timelines, and dependencies
• Improving engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability)
• Managing technical debt while keeping delivery moving
• Coordinating with vendors and external delivery partners

What you need to bring

• 8+ years software engineering experience
• 3+ years in engineering leadership or management
• Strong technical background in C#, .NET, and Azure
• Experience building and scaling integration or backend platforms
• Strong understanding of API-led and event-driven architectures
• Proven ability to lead teams (5-8+ engineers)
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, and modern delivery practices
• Excellent communication, stakeholder, and people skills

Bonus points if you have

• Azure Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Event Grid
• Experience with multi-market or multi-product platforms
• Managing distributed or hybrid teams
• Strong operational and monitoring experience
