• The Head of Engineering will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering department in the development and manufacturing of high-tech systems for defense applications. This role involves managing a diverse and talented team of engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects, and upholding the highest quality standards while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This leadership position requires a blend of technical expertise, strong managerial capabilities, and exceptional leadership skills in a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.Eng in Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Formal leadership training is advantageous.

Key Skills and Experience:

• At least 10 years of experience in engineering design and development, with 3+ years in a managerial role.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliver complex projects.
• Defense industry experience and knowledge of systems and manufacturing standards are advantageous.
• Expertise in designing and developing complex systems, including electronic, software, mechanical, and mechatronic components.
• Experience with simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and validating systems.
• Familiarity with EN9100 Quality Management System and military standards (e.g., Mil-Std, STANAG) is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Provide mentorship, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

Process Establishment and Maintenance:

• Design and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards and drive process improvements.

Technical Expertise and Guidance:

• Provide technical leadership throughout development and manufacturing.
• Stay updated on defense industry technologies, standards, and emerging trends.

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
• Represent the engineering department in meetings, presentations, and negotiations.

General Management:

• Manage the department’s budget and ensure key resource requirements are met.
• Track and manage engineering department assets.

Innovation and Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement and encourage innovation within the team.
