• A leading industrial company is urgently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a plant in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute Engineering Manager to drive growth and optimize plant performance. The role involves leading teams, implementing strategic engineering initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily maintenance operations and teams.
• Drive project planning, scheduling, and task allocation.
• Control project costs and manage budgets.
• Strategize capital expenditure to reduce plant downtime and improve efficiencies.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and food safety standards.
• Oversee asset management, including the fixed asset register and spares utilization.
• Implement and manage planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Coordinate and inspect major contract work across various engineering systems.
• Provide leadership to a team of artisans, fostering development and managing employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with legislative standards related to SHEQ.
• Manage financial aspects, including cost control, budget adherence, and supplier relations.

Requirements:

• A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• GCC Factories certification.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical engineering.
• 8 years of trade experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory category.
• Thorough understanding of the Labour Relations Act.
• Ability to manage problems encountered with machinery and find immediate solutions.
